Right now is a great time to be in LA if you love modern, cutting edge interior design. Dwell on Design, the largest modern design event in America, has returned to Los Angeles to showcase the best products, services and thought leaders in modern design today. In addition to the main event, which is slated to take place June 21-23 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, Dwell is hosting several design labs. The labs will be open for public tours starting this week. Closet Factory designed beautiful modern closets for Dwell Labs/ Los Angeles, and we’re extremely excited to showcase our work.
Closet Factory was hand selected to work with several top ASID (American Society of Interior Designers) designers to design and stage an apartment unit at the Met Lofts Los Angeles and four units at 1600 Vine in Hollywood. Both of these luxury apartment buildings embody modern, sophisticated urban living. The interior designers were given completely empty units as blank canvasses and asked to create gorgeous and functional urban homes. The designers knew that no modern home is complete without modern closets, so they called upon Closet Factory to create custom wardrobe closets and home organization systems that seamlessly fit into their modern looks.

Met Lofts – Unit 423
We helped the interior designer of this space at the Met Lofts maximize space, without compromising style in this small bedroom.
This custom closet features a Mesa Woodgrain finish, Smoke Lucite cabinet doors and brushed aluminum accessories, which perfectly accent the masculine palate and feel of the entire bedroom.The bedroom isn’t big enough to accommodate a dresser, so our designers added drawers and a space saving pull-out mirror.
1600 Vine – Unit 734
This stunning walk-in closet was designed with an artistic single woman in mind. It features a Gray Strie Melamine finish and oversized drawer handles. Oversized hardware is an extremely popular design element in modern closets. The interior designer opted for a pearlescent wallpaper to complement the closet finish.
Dwell Labs/ Los Angeles, hosted by Dwell on Design 2013 will open for tours June 14th and run through July 10th. The model apartments will be open to the public 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Visit the Dwell on Design website for further information on the tours.
