MY ADVICE:

• Less is more in a smaller closet. Trying to add too much can really make smaller closets feel uncomfortable in the end.

• Closet doors often dictate what is possible in closet design. If you are remodeling, this may need some consideration to choose the right kind of door for your needs.

• Our closet systems are permanent and floor-based. Flooring is something I always address with my clients as it is not permanent and is subject to change, especially carpet.

MY FAQ’s:

 “How do you first approach a space? In other words, what’s the first thing you think about when you first see a client’s closet space/storage problem?”

 “What is the biggest design obstacle you’ve overcome? i.e. awkwardly angled walls, electrical sockets in bizarre places, big collections in small spaces.”

Angled walls are mostly a waste of space and seldom work in favor. Other obstacles have been Security panels in unfortunate locations & and even a hole in the wood floor the client wanted to cover from an old safe.

 “Since collaboration is such an integral part of the design process, how do you like to engage or connect with clients in order to help them realize their vision for a space?”

On site design is always a favorite of the home owners to show them a 3D picture of their project, it also helps when they get to see different options before the final decision.

 “How are you inspired by a home’s existing décor? Is there anything specific that you look for during an in-home consultation?”

 “What are some ways a custom designed home office can improve productivity? In other words, how does the right type of home office help people do business?”

A custom office helps productivity by going with your natural rhythm while meeting your specific storage & working needs. Efficiency equals easier productivity.

 “What are some modern organizational trends, or what’s a trend you’re looking for?”

Barn doors are a favorite of mine provided the space is available. I favor the gray trend also and hope to see more texture variety in future trends.
