MY ADVICE:

• Using drawer dividers and filing items such as shorts, t-shirts, or even camisoles keeps you from digging for the one that is on the bottom of your drawer pile.

• Walls/vertical spaces are under-utilized for storage! Think creatively – or just call me

• Don’t just think about it as organizing your closet, but rather as organizing your day and maximizing your time. It is amazing how many times I hear about what a difference being organized makes!

 “How do you first approach a space? In other words, what’s the first thing you think about when you first see a client’s closet space/storage problem?”

 “What is the biggest design obstacle you’ve overcome? i.e. awkwardly angled walls, electrical sockets in bizarre places, big collections in small spaces.”

The biggest design obstacle – LOTS of items in a small space…Going vertical is the best solution!

 “Since collaboration is such an integral part of the design process, how do you like to engage or connect with clients in order to help them realize their vision for a space?”

I like to ask lots of questions about what they like, dislike, and would like to see in the space. Using photos & quick sketches while discussing their vision, wishes and budget helps keep them on track. Knowing what they envision for the space, finding an inspiration and guiding them through the process are important.

 “How are you inspired by a home’s existing décor? Is there anything specific that you look for during an in-home consultation?”

 “What are some ways a custom designed home office can improve productivity? In other words, how does the right type of home office help people do business?”

The functionality of a well-designed office can make all the difference in a person’s productivity level! Together with my clients, I help design spaces where there’s a place for everything and everything is in its place. & easily found.

Boutique style is a current trend, along with the Mid-century Modern. I love the use of lighting creatively. Lighting takes a design from, “Ooh…” to “WOW!”
