I came to Closet Factory, as a designer, in 2008 after working for other storage solution companies. I have a background in Psychology and Environmental Design. Everyone within the Closet Factory Corporation is consistently working in the best interests of each client.
“How do you first approach a space? In other words, what’s the first thing you think about when you first see a client’s closet space/storage problem?”
I first approach a space with an open mind. This space is the client’s, I am here to guide them to the best solution! I look at the space as a whole with the contents included. I, then, address any specific issues the client or space may have.
“What is the biggest design obstacle you’ve overcome? i.e. awkwardly angled walls, electrical sockets in bizarre places, big collections in small spaces.”
There are a few obstacles, such as angled ceilings. I find the most challenging to be baseboard heaters. They come in various lengths, heights and depths. And inevitably they are located where drawers must go!
“Since collaboration is such an integral part of the design process, how do you like to engage or connect with clients in order to help them realize their vision for a space?”
Upon my initial consultation with I client, I let them speak first. I know they have been thinking and processing a lot of their own information before I arrive. I take the knowledge the client has shared with me to customize my presentation and design ideas. This allows me to guide them into realizing the full potential of the space.
“How are you inspired by a home’s existing décor? Is there anything specific that you look for during an in-home consultation?”
Home Décor is very personal and subjective, as is a storage system. I look to see the layers of a client’s home décor, such as the furniture, window treatments and personal items. This allows me to assess the client’s sense of style and looking to compliment what they already live with and love.
“What are some ways a custom designed home office can improve productivity? In other words, how does the right type of home office help people do business?”
A custom office can address the exact needs of the client. This allows the space to be used efficiently, which can increase the client’s productivity and success!
“What are some modern organizational trends, or what’s a trend you’re looking for?”
Each of our custom closets is completely personalized and begins with a complimentary design appointment.
